Saint Lawrence Nursery rootstock

MY pre plant recommendation was 5 tons / acre of lime. Did about 2-2.5 tons/acre while I was digging the holes for the trees. Been doing 1/2 ton / acre yearly since.

Are your trees in a block?

I have trees scattered over many areas. Strings, and clumps.

At home I have blocks 25x25ft 2 wide 11 long. I also have single row a6ft apart.

At camp I have them scattered like yours.

Liming with bag spreaders is not fun. I have a tow behnd gandy 3ft drop spreader which works great for rows. Broadcast spreaders make alot of dust, even with pelletized lime. I'd really like a walk behind drop spreader with larger tires.

You should lime a few trees and see what happens.
