fishing reports

We cheated. My son did the first one with a Penn 30 to see if there were any fish in the area. After he caught one we broke out the electric reel and just pushed the buttons....😉
Fun story... it was very rough seas when I went halibut fishing. Most boats didn't go out. One of the guys puking next to me owned a salmon boat for 15yrs and had never been sea sick before. Bringing my fish up was miserable! I'd lean back and pull the rod tip up, then real the line down, then pull up again. Every time I realed the pole down I'd puke over the rail. Puked for several hours, but I caught that fish!

I hear tile fish are great eating. Let us know how they turn out.

This one was good but I think any white fish would be in this sauce.

Tile fish in a Garlic Mascarpone cheese sauce.

We were part of a fleet of boats that took out over 100 ARC fishermen for a special Olympics 1/2 day fishing event. Weather wasn't the best and we only had about 4 hours from leaving the dock to returning. Luckily we happened on some buoys that we're holding banded rudderfish. Which actually aren't really normal for our waters and on the small side. Didn't matter, the anglers were more than happy to catch them.

Spent the week in topsail NC. Came back Sunday. Firt time using a 2 rod kingfish setup. Cast one rod with a heavy weight, then slide a live fish down the line with a second rod.

Wind blew up the surf bad monday / tuesday, so the water was stained. However, didn't stop the bluefish and the popeye mullet from staying near the shore. Did most of my fishing on the surf city pier. Caught tons of bluefish. Threw back the little ones and kept 3 large one each day I was out. Stayed at the Saint Regis condos like I normally do. Fun trip. Didn't catch a kingfish, but caught plenty of bluefish with the setup as well as casting lures.

Would be fun to fish the inlet. Wife doesn't ant the fishing boat down there. She says we'll never see the beach.

Last Friday night, we fish from an hour before sunset until 1-2am troll worm harnesses mainly with bottom bouncers, we do throw on stickbaits and other stuff at times. 18-28” in this picture.

That's incredible. 32" would be my dream come true.

Never knew a walleye got that big. That's like a 180" buck from the water.

Dang that's a hog!

That is one nice snaggletooth.

They get bigger than that. Some places that's about maxxed out. I try to make a trip to niagara falls every year for a few days in the fall or spring. Hotels are cheap. Real plus is go downriver a bit from the falls, mostly in the town of lewistown. You catch fish that size and bigger. When a walleye doesn't hit, you get a steelhead or salmon. Mostly steelheads though.

I should of went to north carolina this week, but have a wedding to go to tonight. I have the fishing pier as my favorites on facebook. Cathing kingfish pompano and some blues in there for fun.

Too busy to take Chris fishing, so he begged me to drop him off at a pond in a nearby town. He ended getting his personal best cat and largey in 1 hour.

Nice fish! That pond appears to have the big ones.

We slammed Mahi and Golden Tile fish today. Didn't even get the tuna gear out. Cooler is packed with ice and fish to clean in the morning. EHD hit me hard this year. We pull the boat next week.. next year I may get an extended fall slip. Fall winds suck but when you can get out it's worth it.
