fishing reports

We cheated. My son did the first one with a Penn 30 to see if there were any fish in the area. After he caught one we broke out the electric reel and just pushed the buttons....😉
Fun story... it was very rough seas when I went halibut fishing. Most boats didn't go out. One of the guys puking next to me owned a salmon boat for 15yrs and had never been sea sick before. Bringing my fish up was miserable! I'd lean back and pull the rod tip up, then real the line down, then pull up again. Every time I realed the pole down I'd puke over the rail. Puked for several hours, but I caught that fish!

I hear tile fish are great eating. Let us know how they turn out.

We were part of a fleet of boats that took out over 100 ARC fishermen for a special Olympics 1/2 day fishing event. Weather wasn't the best and we only had about 4 hours from leaving the dock to returning. Luckily we happened on some buoys that we're holding banded rudderfish. Which actually aren't really normal for our waters and on the small side. Didn't matter, the anglers were more than happy to catch them.
