Fencing prices?

5 ft. X 150 ft. rolls of concrete mesh a couple years ago cost about $108 here. I know because I bought rolls at that price. Now ...... they're $238. Made offshore. When businesses say they're going to keep costs low (and people think "costs" are what they will pay) - they do not mean prices!!! Cost and price are 2 different animals. Keeping costs down means wages/pay/benefit levels. By moving manufacturing plants of any kind offshore - what businesses are telling U.S. workers is ...... "you're paid too much." So they move to poverty-level countries like India, China, Singapore, Indonesia, Pakistan, Mexico, Honduras, Bangladesh, Viet Nam, etc. that have no environmental laws or any real enforcement.

So ...... "costs" go down - prices go up. Big money is in the driver's seat, brothers. If you can get 150' rolls of 5' concrete mesh for $149 ..... I'd race to buy while the getting's good. These days, that's a steal.

Tubes seem to not be that successful. Often see over half of them failed. Maybe not the tube's fault, could be watering too.

Buying trees are only worth it if you fence them right. Plant as many as you're gonna buy good fence for.

Never used cattle fence, but I would only use it if I was going to keep it there permanently, or reuse it in a few years for a new round of trees.

Just stating facts. The conditions/prices so many people b##ch about, and are rightfully concerned about - come about for real, factual reasons. I prefer not to sugar-coat things or stick my head in the sand. BTW - no anger or hostility here on my end.

Menards and everyone else has those same remesh rolls for $150/roll, which is pretty much the same as it was from 2020-2024.

I was just joking … no problem !

We have no Menards around here. Or $150 prices on 150' x 5' rolls of concrete re-mesh. I'd be buying several rolls at that price!

Yep - none here either! My career was all about factual info - life & death/safety depended on it. No gray areas. When I post here, I'm nice and calm, and I feel no anger or hatred toward anyone. I do love the info here though.

Have a good day friend!

Man that sucks. Menards also has 11% rebate, so you would be saving $100 per roll. If you ever get over to Ohio, stock up on remesh and rebar. Menards often has cheap ladder stands too.

Tractor Supply has the Red Brand 5" X100' welded wire fencing on sale again ($15 off). I believe thier sales usually end on Sunday. They're also have a special 10% off site wide sale for items bought online and picked up in store (valid Saturday thur Monday). Saturday may be the best day for the fencing.

Thanks! It looks like the sale is also on the Countyline brand, that has the same specs. I'll get some ordered tomorrow.

What are you guys seeing for a price?

The 5'x100' stuff is coming in at $145 over here for a sale price before any online discounts.

I ordered some apple trees from Turkey Creek I need to cage this spring. I also have a bunch of spruce I need to screen if they survive the winter.

$150 minus the $15 sale discount. I don't see the extra pickup discount. I think it will show up tomorrow.

The regular price in Northern Indiana is $140 (before sale discounts).

I've always noticed that about TSC, they have varying prices depending on the regions. Even 15 or 20 miles apart can be $20/roll difference.

OVer by me $115 for 4x100, they have a origin point 14 gauge 2x4 4x100ft for 108, probably could save a few bucks getting that sent to the store.

2x4 5'x100ft is 140.

Will be placing my order in the morning. Guy at TSC said the online orders are held for 48 hours before canceled and put back into stock.

$20 cheaper per roll in WI than MN, so I'll be picking it up Monday after work.

Thanks for the heads up on the sale @Smokegobbler

That's a good question, I did not see how long the sale was good through.

The customer service guy at TSC said an order placed tonight might work until EOB Monday, so I may just place the order tonight. Good call.

I'd place the order after they close tonight (before midnight).
