East Texas: TAMU Resilient Forests Incentive Program

c2ranch

A good 3 year old buck
Has anyone in the East Texas region caught up with the new TReFIP program? The structure looks to be very promising with a lot of different options for reimbursement. Not limited to just burning or planting this time around. Here's a link to the main website: https://tfsweb.tamu.edu/grants-fina...ts/texas-resilient-forests-incentive-program/

Need to work with a TAMU forester, but they've been very helpful in the past. My local forester is on vacation, but we're going to meet early next year. Hopefully in time to get a grant approval before our dormant season burn this year, but I'm hoping to use the program to offset the cost of understory spraying next fall.

thanks for the link

What county is your property in?

We're in Houston county, about an hour and a half south of you. How's your local forestry extension up there? They're very active and helpful in our neck of the woods. (TPWD is also very helpful, we had the local biologist come out shortly after we bought the property to give us some guidance and strategies to employ.)
