I could, also - if I could get to it. I usually cant get to my lowland plots with a tractor until late July of August. And even my upland plots I have taken a hands off approach.
Yep, different considerations for different locations. I will say that the mowing WR to release the clover is directly related to the WR rates. With lighter rates, you can let it head out. WW may be a reasonable nurse crop for a low-lying field that you can't access in the spring. It doesn't have all the weed fighting properties of WR, but it has many of them. It is shorter so with the right rate for planting you may be able to skip the mowing in the spring.
