I think this is a pretty good point about thermal scopes. People thought the sky was falling when they became more prevalent. What's hunting/poaching going to be like when night vision costs less than the rifles they go one? Oh wait, they are.
Don't worry, your fish and game departments will come up with plenty of laws that are intended to protect the turkeys from drones. They have have jobs they want to keep and budgets they want to expand, there will be no shortage of laws and regulations.
Drones are slightly different though. With these drones you can literally find and identify every deer. It doesn't necessarily mean a dead deer any time you see it on your property, but it would increase your chances more than any other recent technological advancement. Even cell cams have to be placed in the right spot and have the deer show up during daylight with you getting to that same spot before them again in the future. If you fly a drone during the day and see a buck bedded in a certain spot, you could hunt in that area and have a much better chance of seeing them.
With all of that said, I don't know how that would be exciting to people or whether that would equate to more people buying these types of drones if they become cheaper. I could see the trophy hunters on social media using them for sure, but the average guy or gal? Live scoping and other fish finders have certainly made it easier and the vast majority of fisherman don't use them. Hell, there is a growing trend of people not putting any trail cameras out because it reduces people's level of enjoyment of the sport.
