Ouch....I remember the night I despondently looked at several feet of new snow on March 20, 1992 (the first day of spring), and thought, "This is ridiculous." It was June before the ice left the bay on Lake Vermillion. We had snow and 7 degrees this morning, but at least it will be 70 on Wednesday and 80 on Friday. One of the advantages of Missouri in March. We got another 8 inches on top of the 25 to 28 we had yesterday. Now the wind is blowing with 40 mph gusts. Marinette county is in a snow emergency until Wednesday.
The lack of "unhoused persons with substance use disorders" was definitely less in Hibbing, MN than it was in Shafter, CA--two similarly size towns. Of course, Minneapolis is "exceptional."... Living up here keeps the rif raff out. Don't find too many homeless druggies when it gets -30.

We didn’t quite that cold in south Alabama, but I had a few fruit trees lose 100% of their new growth. It was strange, some trees had zero damage and others looked like they had been poisoned25.7 degrees in east texas last week
All new growth on sawtooth, bur , chestnuts schmoked
Hopefully,they recover

- March 2026 was the warmest March on record for the contiguous United States, with the average temperature about 9.4 °F above the 20th-century average. This marks the highest departure from normal for any month in U.S. climate history.
- This made March 2026 the warmest March ever recorded in the U.S. dataset (which goes back to 1895).
I don’t believe stuff. It’s hot here.Just don’t believe that stuff.
Been a very mild spring here. Was in 40s this morning.
Super dry. Though we have some chances next week, they keep reducing themI will say it’s been a dry spring. If it’s dry now then we have normal dry late summer and fall it’s gonna get crispy.
