L series home can be used as a home but its designed to be cellular, you need an active plan to access many of the settings , time date , hi res images etc - if you dont wan ot run it that way, you can buy a monthly plan, set everything the way you want it and cancel the plan, in that respect it will cost you $15 to set everything up the way you want it but then its done. The other option is to make one of your remote cameras the home in link menu, then you can set the time on that unit and the rest will sync to it and it wont cost you anything, if you plug the L cell home into it the remainder will sync to its time and it wont be correct . the L home units are sold at a loss with the idea the cell plan will help pay for the cost since it has a cell modem and a link radio in it but retails for the same as the remote cameras.

Thank you John. That answered my question. I'm new to Cuddeback.

@john volkman, what does 3.4 fix? That bug isn't fixed in 3.3?

What this firmware does
CuddeLink GEN 3 version 3.2.0 has a bug that affects a small portion of users. This bug prevents some photos from being sent and over the air updates from working properly. GEN 3 firmware 3.4.0 fixes these issues.

3.3 was the main fix regarding the routing bug - 3.4 just adds some functionality in regards to the trends feature, you can keep using 3.3 unless its convenient to update 3.4
