Cuddeback's Cuddelink

I shouldn’t even write this, it’s bad juju and I generally try to speak little of anything that’s actually working… but I think we’re in the fourth season now of a group of eight cameras out in the woods. For some of them in the sunniest areas the plastic is getting a little brittle and whitened. I’ve been been meaning to change the detection lenses but have never done it, and I do suspect they miss a trigger here and there. But they have all been working, out there in the elements all this time. They’ve been awesome and have probably taught me more in four years than I learned in the previous 15 years.

I just bought a Cuddelink Cell to upgrade from my home receiver and was wondering how to swap out the current receiver that is set to HOME to the cuddelink cell that I need to make HOME.

I powered down the current receiver and set the cuddelink cell as HOME on the current channel as all my remotes. I set the location to 001, the same as the receiver it's replacing but I'm only showing one node, the cuddelink cell, and not picking up the other cameras on the channel.

Any suggestions?

Did you change the camera that was the home unit to a remote and make its location something other than 001? When I added my cell home unit I powered down the old home, fired up the new one and set it to be the home and location 001. After that I powered up the old home and changed it to a remote and updated the location to 009 in my case. The system never missed a beat.

I was using the old G series homs reciever. I initially powered it down but I just changed it from HOME to REPEATER and changed the location from 001 to 012 to put it at the end of the list. I was able to get it to establish a Link Level of 99, assuming it linked to the Cuddelink Cell next to it

nodes wont show up immediately it takes time to build the network, turn the old home off then make sure your new unit is on same channel and same firmware and arm it, then go to one remote and run a link level- once you see a level arm that remote and by the next morning all the remotes should be connected to your new home.

So I got the Cuddelink Cell Home up and running. It's activated and connected to all cameras on the channel.

The system worked for the first day sending 42 pics overnight. The next day I stopped receiving any pics, updates, reports, etc from the Cell Home. When I checked it, it was flashing "Cell TX" which lasted for a long time. I let it sit for a while and the message went away.

Still yet to receive a anything, I ran a Cell test and each time it flashes "Busy" for about 10 minutes and returns a Fail: 060 error. I read this means no cellular connection which is weird because my Cuddelink Cell is Verizon as is my phone which receives 4 bars of 5G while at the Cuddelink. Anyone have any ideas?

make sure you have a cell rate of 1 hour or longer, dont use cell rate of 1 image. then try moving it a short distance and run the cell test again or take it to another known good cell area and run the test. You can also go into "tests" on the cmaera and run a reset , then run the cell test, if you run a reset you will need to go thru and set all settings to where they were before. .

Thanks for the help. I ended up clearing my SD Card, there were a few hundred pics on it, ran a reset, and changed the rate to 1 hour and received a Success when I ran a cell test. It's armed and I'm letting it work.

Is there anything I need to do when hooking a solar panel to the G-5109? I remember a battery setting on my J cams but don't see anywhere to select external/solar on this unit.

you can plug it right in - if you go into tests on the camera and run SD card test 9 times, it will recognize the panel right away or you can wait and it should show up on your report the next day as EXT OK if its fully charged.

Is cuddeback still selling IR powerhouse cubes?

they likely still have some or Farmstead outdoors likely has them in stock, they are discontinued so there will be a time soon when they become unavailable.

Ok thank you

Currently misplaced my owner manuals. What is the proper way to replace batteries in the Cuddelink home and L series cameras? Do I need to power everything down completely to do so? Does everything hold its current settings with batteries removed during the short period of time while I swap them? My home unit is needing new batteries after 3 months, I have it set to send images 4 times a day, so no complaints there and that was obviously during some very cold temperatures.

just put the menu on clock or "test" and remove batteries, when screen goes completely blank, then put new batteries in , all your settings will remain the same. run a cell test before you arm the cell home unit to make sure its connected.

I Have been using the cell system for years and about a week ago I stopped receiving the emails. I figured the power went out on the wall wort that powers the home camera and it died but I just checked the camera, and it is up and running. Ran a cell test and got success but no email. I went to the camp account and the pictures I didn't get emailed are up on the camp. So why am I not getting the emails?

check your junk file first, if not there , make sure you didnt inadvertently hit the "unsubscribe " link in an email and remove yoru email from the relay. IF they are in camp they should be emailing to the addresses set up in camp.

Yeah, I did check the junk file. Nothing. I am still receiving emails from a stand alone cell camera, just not the cuddelink one.

those are two different accounts, you could have hit "unsubscribe" on a cuddelink cell unit email by accident and not the stand alone, go into camp and insure you have an email entered under your Clink cell unit. if it is, add an other one, or delete the one in there and re enter it. IF its blank , thats your issue, add your email and it should send again.

John.....Was wondering if anyone offers a weather station to work with Cudde Link? That could be a great product for guys like me that are absent from the land all winter. This is an example of a cellular set up.....but it would be nice if Cudde would integrate it into their system.
