I have not posted in a while because the coons ate every freaking Apple off ever freaking tree I had except for a Lodi!!!! I am going to wage war on the coons real soon. The darn things eat all the apples and break some of the perfectly trained laterals!

Run a hot wire around your trees if possible and hang sardines wrapped in foil every so often with tail end hanging out a bit. That will straight break them from sucking eggs.

Depending on the size of the tree you can run a sheet metal collar around them too.

I have a running battle/war going on with coons too. In Ohio if you have a fur taker permit and they are a nuisance you can kill them year round on your place.
I like the dog proof coon cuffs with the Ztraps being my favorite baited with little marshmallows. The trouble with coons is they are like a hydra...kill one and three come to it's funeral.
I trap/shoot them from mid winter until late august then lay off because I don't want to spook the deer.
