Conspiracy theorys, where do you stand?

That Melania press conference was bizarre in a way I cannot describe.

I also was really stunned by her accent. I speak with immigrants who speak English as a second (or third or fourth) language at work many times per week. Holy crap. She speaks English but it’s not the language she speaks the most.

Well if the ceasefire holds and the war ends with the status quo, then this war has strategically been an abject failure for the United States.

Russia is getting richer. Iran is getting richer. Iran and Russia are still producing drones with Chinese parts. Our Middle Eastern allies have lost some of their oil production. Iran has proven to the world it is the most powerful force in the region. The US has shown it's intolerance for economic pain. Our European allies don't trust us and are acting against us. Our global power has been reduced. There has been no significant change in the Iranian regime. Iran has not lost its nuclear capabilities and is probably more determined than ever to create a nuclear weapon. And the list goes on.

I tried to stay positive about the conflict as long as possible, but I'm struggling to see any real positive outcomes. The list of potential benefits for the US is rather short, and it's just a bunch of maybes. I'd be surprised if this turns into a win.

Oh well, maybe the market will spin back up. I won't be pushing all my chips in until the future is a bit clearer. I'll probably make a big TACO bet on Monday if there's no significant change in the situation over the weekend.

The only positive is our military is still badass. But the rest seems true. It’s hand and hand with the administration. Trump has been and absolute abject failure this ground. Guy has literally lost his mind and we are along for the ride

I thought we are trying to prevent them from nuking the free world. That's what they want to do. Looks to me like it will take scheduled bombing indefinitely.

I think that’s where i stand, for whatever the hell that’s worth. At this point a cease fire is foolish. They are spewing the same rhetoric as normal. Kill them all till morale improves. All we are doing at this point is kicking the can down the road. As far as isolating Europe….the blue bloods there are Muslim woke hellholes so who cares. We need to lean into places like Poland and Scandinavia

That's nothing new, but the conflict has shown we have a lot of gaps to fill in our military now. We literally copied the Iranian drones. And their cheap drones are exhausting our expensive interceptors. Not sure what we are going to do about it, but I hope it's soon.

They'll just move the facilities deeper. We don't want to get into an arms race with Iran.

It's not about isolating Europe. They will just turn to other countries. We saw how Germany sold its soul to Russia. The Europeans aren't above turning to China and even Iran if they feel they need to.

Poland and Scandinavia are in Europe. There's no way to pry them out of that alliance. If we push away our allies, the only ones being isolated are us. That's a weak position to be in with global alliances reforming.

Yes I know. I’m saying England, Spain, Germany, France, etc are a lost cause. They are more sympathetic to the Muslim cause than a western cause.

England, Spain, and Germany are circling the drain. Italy, too. France has potential still, but I don't think they're ready yet.

In the bright side, we get a new president in about 3 years, so maybe we'll go back to mending fences with allies and putting the screws ro our enemies. Hopefully our old allies and our enemies don't become friends in the mean time.

The Europeans are in an increasingly desperate situation. They already make stupid political moves, and China is just itching to do what it can to subvert US power globally.

I don't like the idea of the US losing its global power. Nature abhors a vacuum, as they say. China, Russia, Turkey, Iran, etc. would all love to get a slice ofnthe power pie. Our military is designed to project power. It's a lot easier to do that from bases in friendly countries than from an aircraft carrier. And being friendly toward other nations keeps them on our side in putting economic and political pressure on Russia, China, etc.

It will take 30 years to rebuild our alliances. This is terrible.

I am concerned that Vance is being pushed to the front. It means something. I don't like it.

I toned that down. Sorry about that.

30 years wow! Well you and I prbly won't have to worry about that!

I don’t think this war is near over. This is our last war because we don’t have the money or political honesty to replace all that’s been pissed away to the military industrial complex. And Israel won’t stop because it’s not their money and it’s not their sons and daughters fighting it.

Our economy is 15x bigger than Russia and we, along with all of NATO, couldn’t out produce them on conventional munitions. We’re 8x bigger than Iran and can’t break a naval blockade.

Now, after emptying all our stores and blowing up a shit ton of capital and equipment, we don’t have the people to do it, and we can’t afford the outrageous premiums we’d have to pay the bribes and premiums to defense contractors and children and in-laws of senators and congressman. There’s too many people stealing to let any of that money get to soldiers and quality equipment.

That’s my take anyway.

And our country is being invaded and robbed blind and we can’t even all agree it’s a problem. I don’t care about what goes on between satanists and Muslims on the other side of the pond when everything is going to hell in every major city in America.

It's a terrible idea, but it wouldn't surprise me. Both parties.are.bonkers these days.

I can't tell if MAGA is really about making Amerixan great or just a rallying slogan for Trump supporters. Vance is losing popularity, and it doesn't look like he's a suitable candidate for president, but he might get Trump's support, and I'm not sure how significant that is these days.

However, the Democrats are in total disarray, and they have managed to run candidates who are flat-out disliked by Americans.

Primary season in 2028 is going to be interesting. Hopefully not in a bad way.

I'm more with you on this 1 than your prior. Mideast always resets. People could turn their tvs off and the drama queen effect would settle down. I'm not too concerned US won't restock its bullets. Buy Raytheon.
