Hate to be that guy...but Bolton is a whack job. If he's right, which I seriously doubt, it sounds like we should have went to war with North Korea.

There is zero doubt at this point that we went to war because Israel wanted us to, the tail is wagging the dog. That is problematic foreign diplomacy, IMO.

Oh and Lindsey Graham needs a muzzle, what is wrong with that guy?

I agree he’s interesting. Doesn’t necessarily make him wrong. He certainly could be though
Im not ready to say there’s zero doubt. I have plenty of doubt. I think both countries wanted too and it’s always better to have a ride or die partner

I agree about the ride or die but both Trump and Rubio have stated in direct terms we attacked Iran because Israel felt threatened and were going on the offensive.

He’s trumps boy. Which is odd, or maybe it’s not, hell I don’t know anymore
A US Senator (not a diplomat) making an offer to a foreign country is bizarre, out of line even. Especially one that involves war.

You're right, who knows anymore. We had a golf course designer and the President's son in law negotiating for us on the eve of a massive conflict. Different times for sure.

If there’s a more shady individual than Jared kushner I haven’t seen one. Wtf is going on. Dudes my age, never held any office, and responsible for if we go to war or not. Can’t make this up. Forget Israel, this is the one Jewish guy who is beholder to Qatar. I’m sure he had to run the negotiations by them first. Jumbo jets ain’t free

Don't forget his dad needed a pardon.

He's the Hunter Biden of this administration for sure.

So WTF I thought these type of appointments were stopped by the administration.

Not really. Trump has a lot invested in the region and needs to make it work. I think he has billions in investment deals negotiated with American companies to go into the region.

Iran is the main destabilizing force in the region, which is the most unstable region in the world. It's a big move toward world peace. Venezuela, Iran, Cuba, and then maybe North Korea. It's a tall order, and there's limited time, but if Trump can bring about meaningful peace in troubled regions, while tipping the balance of global hegemonic power against the Chinese and Russians.

We need Israel for the fight against Iran, and Israel needs us. I have no problem assisting Israel, the same way various other countries have assisted us, the same way we assisted the UK in WW2. Just because Israel gains more from this war and is calling the shots, doesn't mean it's not in our interests to do so.
Stability and increased American influence in the Middle East is good for Americans. A stable and secure Middle East is good for Americans.

Question for everyone to ponder:

"Is there a level of escalation where you will no longer support the war against Iran?"

For me it's not about escalation. I'll support the effort as long as it goes well. I support the effort in principle, and so far I support the way it's being carried out, but if they make a mess of it, then I would support the principle but not the execution.

Same as the Afghanistan war. I was on board until it became a stagnant, expensive quagmire that unnecessarily cost American lives. We should expect our military leaders, including the president, to perform military actions cleanly and effectively. If they instigate a conflict, it is their responsibility to conduct and conclude it properly.
