Conspiracy theorys, where do you stand?

Using the N word in a post 20 years ago and dredging it up to cancel a Conservative Christian is ok. First A be damned!!

Being fired by your employer for bringing ghoulish shame directly on their organization YESTERDAY is an assault on our freedoms.

GFY with that.

The first amendment only means that the government cannot hold you criminally liable for your opinions. It does not protect people from the social consequences of their speech or even from criminal prosecution for utterances that incite illegal activity.

The first amendment doesn’t guarantee your employment. That wasn’t an asterisk in the constitution
You are not wrong. BUT, I don't think I agree with all these people losing their jobs over what they said . It wasn't right when they did it to us, it's not right now

You can agree or disagree all you want, absolutely reasonable to have an opinion. It’s up to the employer to decide if they want someone with that opinion to be a part of their culture.

That is correct. It most certainly is. Doesn't mean it's right. What a person does or says on they're own time (legally) is their business. Now if your doing it on company time, or management of some sore that could be different in some cases.
Just saying it wasn't ok when they did it to conservatives, it isn't when we do it either

Voicing your opinion can have real consequence's plain and simple I have no issue with it there is no affront to freedom of speech just individuals learning how real life works. Guess there maybe a few on the forum that never got the memo either that your actions can have real consequences that affect your life. Must be part of the participation trophy mentality.

I was a former teacher for 7 years. If I were to celebrate the death of anyone online, or with my students I would without a doubt expect to be fired the next day !

How can any student, parent, staff or school board member respect you or trust you if you celebrate or condone the death of a person .

It cant happen …these teachers getting fired for celebrating Charlie’s death deserve it …they know better !

So what do you think about teachers getting fired for their comments? These are the people tasked with educating our children. You're entitled to your opinion but in my mind any person who's willing to make these comments let alone make them publicly should not be in a position to educate our children. I have no problems with anyone else getting fired for comments they made either as that's strictly an employee/employer situation. I personally wouldn't actively call for anyone to be fired for this unless they were a public servant of some type. If my tax dollars help pay their salary then I feel I should have some say in the matter but outside of those circumstances it's just not anything I should have any say in.

No ,teachers shouldn't be preaching the crap in schools.. if they do it on their own time and don't bring it into school or in front of the kids, I don't care.
All the people screaming take their jobs now we're the same ones screaming about them doing this a couple years ago. But whatever. Party on

When I owned my company if an employee who represented my company to the public. Spoke out like some have about Charlie I’d fire them. Even If it was that bat $hit crazy congress woman from Texas that got shot and they cheered that on, I’d fire them. There is a certain decorum an owner wants for his business. Private time or not. Celebrating any death wouldn’t have flown at my place.

One that’s left me wondering is the name of the trans boyfriend that was going from M to F. Names are interesting some times.

His name is Lance Twiggs. On his way to get some degree of a chopadickoffame. Lance Twiggs.

Here’s another that’s just a coincidence I’m sure.

My point is, when they are on their own time they are not representing your company but themselves. Cases like Kimmel, or some of these ceos are different. What one does on their own time is their business, unless it starts affecting the business that's where the line should be drawn. The problem I have is people digging into others lives and causing havoc because they don't agree with what they are saying. That's not right no matter what side is doing it. These people Cheering, and celebrating kirks death while vile and reprehensible people should be allowed to have their opinions weather I or you agree or not. Hell I have guys that work for me that do stuff on their own time that I don't like, I'm not going to fire them for it. It's their business not mine

Kimmel getting fired is exactly like saying something disgusting to the wrong person and getting a couple of teeth knocked out.

It’s legal, but you’re still gonna be eating over ripe bananas with a straw for awhile.

And Kimmel said his words at his place of employment not some social media account.

Regardless social media is fair game and public domain. What you say on it can have repercussions so either accept that or stay off of it. I have buddies who run corporate offices and they all crawl social media when considering new hires. It’s the new reality.

Freedom of the press and free speech are only protections from government intrusion and these protections do not extend to employees of private companies from their employers. In Kimmel's case, ABC was technically self-censoring, but we don't really know what was said between Trump/FCC and ABC, but based on the FCC Chair's comments and Trump's social media posts, ABC was certainly threatened.

Remember how the West was making fun of China and Xi for their censorship of Winnie the Pooh references? It's insane to me that this is where we are at right now. If Obama had Hannity fired from Fox News, would people here have been comfortable with it?

Should be easy enough to show sources for the FCC threatening to pull ABC's license because of Roseanne Barr...

She was fired because she tweeted something racist and her employer didn't like it. Her employer wasn't being censored by the government.

ABC had every right to can Kimmel if they wanted, but if it came from pressure from the FCC, that is concerning.

A few weeks/months ago Trump threatened and then filed a lawsuit against the WSJ for their reporting on his involvement with Epstein. Part of their reporting, IMO led to the shapeshifting from the administration on the list being non-existent, to a Democrat hoax, to Trump being a FBI informant (according to the House Speaker).

If media/outlets aren't allowed to investigate/report on their findings or talk show hosts can't make light of what the Administration is doing without retribution of the heavy hand of government, then we are indeed on a slippery slope.
