Clethodim Won't Kill It; Must not be Grass?

I have this in my clover plot. I have not dealth with this on this scale until this year. Cleth doesn't seem to touch it as it has been sprayed twice and no luck. Kills the other grasses, but this keeps on growing. Just curious what it is and what to spray to kill it? Thanks.

Looks like yellow nutsedge. Look up chemicals to kill sedges

Imazamox has sedges on its label, and is safe with beans, clover, legumes. I'd have to re-read to refresh my memory on timing for spraying/stage of growth.

Halosulfuron is the ingredient in Sedgehammer (and other brands), a turf and landscape selective herbicide for yellow and purple nutsedge. Not sure if its safe on plot species.

You can also use Basagran

8-16 oz per acre in clover with Imox (per Raptor label)
Follow up 10-14 days later
Avoid mowing 5 days before and after spraying for sedges (3 days for others)

Can mix with Poast for grasses - (sethoxydim)

Sledgehammer works great.

I’ve also used Ortho nut sedge killer if you just have to spot spray here and there. It’s handy enough to just keep a bottle in the utv and hit it when you see it if it’s pretty sparse. On my place it’s just a clump here and there once you get ahead of it.

8-16oz per acre will do a good amount of acres. It's cheaper if you're doing large areas vs buying packets of SedgeHammer to spot treat. A quick search shows $15+ per packet that treats 1000 sq ft.

16-32 oz./acre with 32 being more likely for most foodplotters who oftentimes don't have the best timing for spraying.
Ya. Still cheaper than Sedgehammer if you're covering an entire acre. Sedgehammer is designed more for spot spraying.
