Catscratch House and Habitat build

Glad your son is fine, I've told my kids and wife the same, "just drive through it if you can't slow down stop safely."

I have hit two deer already this year, let me rephrase that...two deer have hit me this year. Both coming home from work, one on the corner like your son did-nice buck broke its right back leg and his body smacked the hood, the second T-boned me right at the pillar between front and back door, scared the crap out of me. Its butt swung around and dented back quarter on car. Two weeks apart!
Both deer hobbled away.

Since we have moved, I drive country roads to work. In a year and a half I've hit a half dozen raccoons, a few possum, a few cats, a couple bunnies and a bunch of birds, car is a 2014 Cruze with 248K miles on it that gets 35+ mpg and has luckily been a great trouble free work car, I bought it new just for work...if it was a plane it would be an ACE now with all the kills it has!

I only fixed the headlight to get it back on the road with the high miles it has.

I’ve used stainless steel wire to hold up the split front bumper.
I’m about one fat suicidal raccoon away from having to get a new work car. Trying to make it last another year and half until retirement but nature is against me.

Great car you have there! You've gotten your money's worth out of it!

Ours is on it's 2nd teenagers first car. Done well and owes us nothing!

Got to see a sneak peak to our family knives this morning. They're going to turn out great!

Holy (&(&)(^^%$$& crap (it is Easter you know.. LOL). Those are absolutely awesome!!

I had a knife "maker" turn an old set of antlers from a buck that one of my Grandpa's shot when I was young, I was along for the hunt, into knife handles. My Grandpa had the antlers made into a plaque and gave them to me that Christmas. They were always special to me. I wanted to makes knives for each of my brothers and myself as a way to keep his memory alive. I had seen the guy's work on a number of posts on an old forum I was on at the time. I didn't want anything fancy. Something we could wear on our hips when we saw fit. Got the knives shipped to me and I was so disappointed in the quality of the work. Nothing like I had seen on the guy's posts. Those knives of yours are absolutely a keepsake.

Things passed down from grandpa always seem the most special. Sorry you didn't get what you expected, but maybe the thought behind it overcomes the craftmanship.

Thanks on the compliment. The builder carries a knife that has a grape vine in it. Ancestors that immigrated to the US brought vines with them and started a vineyard in CA. The section in his knife is a directly from that plant.

What are your soil temps? Milo around here is much closer to June 1.

Likely not warm enough. The internet says temps are borderline. I only did it hoping to get lucky with the milo. The farmers corn is all 2-3 inches tall. We are expected to get rain the next 5 days. Since I had everything out for the corn I took the gamble with the milo. Probably have to do it over in a month. No big deal.

That’s not bad though. Our average soil temps are just under 60 with the minimums in the lower 50’s. Further from yours than I would have thought.

We're a good bit warmer than you guys. Going to be wet and cooler for the next week. Lows mid 50's at night. IF it germinates I might have wet feet issues.

Good buddy lives in OKC. They are a solid 2-3 weeks ahead of us every yr; fruit tree blooms, leafing out, grass green up, etc. I'd bet we're that much ahead of you.
