Looks like shell lake, wi to me

that would be fun to do with a few guys. but i am to tight. I always like watching videos from that area. Looks like allot of big timber with fertile bottoms!

If you zoom out on the map they provided in the link, it is nowhere near Buffalo Co, WI. It is way to far north to be Buffalo Co and the nearest landmark is Shell Lake, which is about 2-3 hours north of Buffalo Co. The poster of that ad is either terrible with maps, or is trying to scam someone into a lease that is nowhere near where they are saying it is.

Yes, Mondovi is in Buffalo Co. Must have been a CL posted map then, because the map points a full 2 hours north of Mondovi.

If I was retired and had a couple guys who wanted to do this I would pull a 5th wheel down and hunt for a month or so.

When I retire, this is on my list.

There is a guy from Shell Lake who is an "Outfitter" in BC, it's probably him offering this.

i'm in :). when i retire... seriously though, i will do something like that when i retire.

If you can't afford it now with a buddy or two, you won't be able to do it when you retire.

When you get older ... you are cheaper, stingier, and less apt to see the opportunity ... carpe diem ... !

It's not about money it's about time. To much work and to many commitments. I would love to spend a month + hunting big bucks.

Who said anything about a month?

You either identify reasons why you can't or figure out reasons why you can ... how bad do you want it?

If that was the actual map, that would put you on a lease less than a mile from where they found the deer with CWD a couple years ago up there! A far cry from BC.

If there's one thing I've learned the last 3.5 years or so...its that sometimes you don't get to retire and enjoy the fruits of all that hard work. Nobody lays on their death bed and says "man, I wish I would have worked more and made more money".

If not a month...take 10 days. If not 10 days, take a week. If not a week, take a long weekend. Just don't assume all those things you're "gonna do when you retire" are going to come to fruition ;)

One has to decide what is really important.

Hunting BC might be that important, then again maybe not. All personal preference and your goals at that time in life.

sorry to divert the thread.

It is an Outfitter that has this for lease, for this year only. He has more land than hunters and is trying to get some of his money back.
So it's a one time sub lease? It just goes to show you that the demand for high dollar hunts and property is shrinking. Those outfitters in bc push through hunters like crazy, so this guy must really be loosing his a$$.
Mo what outfitter is it?

I hunted in that county about 10 years ago. I would never go back there again. That is the highest Hunter density there is.
He better start lowering his prices or he won't have anything. I think that would be great if a few of these outfitters went under. It would bring some sanity back to hunting.

Only you can answer that

All I'm saying is that many people (myself included) say "I really want to do (fill in the blank), but don't have the time. I'll do it when I retire". My point is...find the time to do those things you really want to do...because you may not get to retire (obviously not an issue for those who have already reached retirement age or who don't have things on their "bucket list" to still do)

Amen to this! One of our local fire fighter just got diagnosed with terminal cancer at 30 yrs old! That hits home with me. Im 28. Im building a cabin next summer whatever it takes! Not putting it off anymore. Hope to enjoy our land to the fullest extent cuz you just never know what tomorrow will bring.

You know this piece has to be one of the worst places this outfitter leases. He's not going to sublease his best or even average property. He's trying to get some sucker to bite, Soley of the name recognition of the county. All the while he gets to pocket a a grand of so, from what he gives to the actual property owner.
I would be very careful renting this place. If he lets you walk it and it is quality habitat....fine. $4000 is a pretty good dime, the one year caviet would turn me off.

Jimmy Buffett says ... "I want them to look at me in the coffin and say , WOW he looks terrible, he must've had a good time ..."

You can never change what happened yesterday, yet the sun will rise tomorrow and you may not ... when most people retire, they only talk about their regrets ...
.

Thats good, he's gonna have some guys after him with pitch forks for the money he owes. Haha Antler porn has dropped in price. Wait till Cwd hits there, it is just a matter of time.

image.jpg If it is east of Mondovi west of Eleva has to be close to my property.
I don't see heavy pressure where I am and that area has some great genetics. Nicely balanced deer population.
This is 3.5 year old, I bet last year he did not make 125
