Bobcats and Deer

Been peeking the backyard every night since the weekend. Tonight was my first chance to shoot anything. Just a medium sized doe. Left it alone. Do have a doe tag for my area.

Most years I'd see a deer about 2 out of 3 morning/evenings. Food plot is ok, not wonderful, neighbors moved in about 2 years ago and have dogs. However, biggest change is seeing a bobcat pretty often in the backyard. I suspect she has a den right behind the brush next to my foodplot. Used to see 6-10 woodchucks as of this summer. I actually saw her kill one in the foodplot about 2 months ago.

Think this is scaring the deer away? I get activity on my trail camera pretty much every night still.

Maybe, though I once watched a doe trail a bobcat and blow at it about every 10 steps.

I see cats and deer around each other often. They don't seem to take much notice of each other.

I get pictures of cats and then deer not too far apart pretty often.

There is a trail cam video that made the rounds a few years ago if a bobcat taking down a pretty decent buck. If they can do that, I'm sure they would have no problems with a doe, let alone a fawn.

I have several videos of a bobcat walking by and you can see or hear a deer blowing in the clip. Personally, what I would do would depend on my goals. I think bobcats are pretty neat, but the work I do is almost exclusively for deer.
