Pokemon, Rookie Cards, Stamps, etc

When in elementary school, I had a metal lunch box that was registered / trademarked by the NFL with the original teams on it with embossed "helmets" all around the outside edges. Somewhere in the 1980's / 1990's, metal lunch boxes became a hot item for collectors. I had thrown it away years before. Being that it had the original teams - before any expansion teams were added to the NFL - it would have made me some money. Probably not huge $$$ - but a few hundred possibly. Oh well ......

I've never had any graded but I've heard that costs a lot as well. The difference between a Grade 9 and Grade 10 is usually a lot too. I've see videos of people getting pissed when cards they thought were 10's come back as 9's. I just "traded" all my commons to a buddy for his son who was getting in to it for a local brewery gift card. Haha great trade.
I paid $125 to get my Lew Alcindor graded. As I recall you will be charged dependent on the grade and value of the card. That was the reason out of the 2 sets of the 1969 & 1970 basketball card collection I only had 1 card graded. When I sold that card I bought a rifle which seemed to be a much better idea. I should probably go to a card show to see how much I could get for the rest of them before my wife finds them and pitches them out, I know if I have more guns laying around at least they won't get pitched.

My favorite player was Nolan Ryan. I had a bunch of his older cards. Our house was broken in to when I was around 13/14 and they were all stolen. Idiots smashed the basement door window when the front door was open. Never locked the doors back then.
