Here's a wolf in the same location for a size comparison.

I would say a Lynx because of the black markings on the ears and tail. but not a great picture to see the ears.

I would say bobcat because of the flat back and slender appearance.

that's a big bobcat if it is a bobcat. I am leaning toward lynx

Here's another picture of the cat.

Aren't they about the same size? Makes sense to find bigger bobcats in the norther part of their range.

Also his tail looks too long to be a lynx.

Thank you. I say Bobcat too, especially with the last post.

Yeah, it shows the back hips to be higher as well.

I'm not sure why, but I was rooting for Lynx. Either way, I like having them around. I haven't learned to hate the predators yet and I hope I never do.

They're both lynx. Bobcats are Lynx rufus, or "red lynx".

I dont know if it is a bobcat or a lynx - but I am dang glad we dont have snow on the ground that late in the year

I would bet on it being a bobcat too. Lynx have pretty good size paws for snow travel.

Id vote bobcat. Lynx have HUGE paws... to the point it looks goofy! It appears to be a big bobcat though!

Jerry Clower calls a lynx a souped up cat.....

Looks like it has a white tip on the tail, so I am gonna run with Bobcat. Thanks terrific-tom for the ID guide!

I think your cat headed south!
Biggest one I've gotten a pic of.
