Acorn Pippen on Dolgo

White Birch Farm

5 year old buck +
Grafted a few dozen combos of scionwood on native crabs, Dolgo rootstock and some domestic apple trees. The ones I was looking most forward to were the Acorn Pippens on Dolgo. The scionwood was very slow to start, with the rootstock already throwing lots of growth, but happily several are now just starting to wake.

I would pinch or clip off most of that dolgo growth, but maybe leave the uppermost limb for just a bit longer.

Remove it when you are sure of growth.

Or listen to the experts and not me.
