A Pretty Apple

It will show some CAR spots but not bad. It puts on wood like no other...super vigorous. Water sprouts galore so your pruners will get a workout late winter. I take off some of these suckers/branches/leaves in September to help shaded/covered fruit get some sun (and wind) for ripening; to try and get the whole tree ripe at once but it usually require two pickings a week or so apart to let the North side of the tree catch up to the exposed Southern side. This is mid-September when it ripens. I have had people at work tell me its the best apple they've ever had. Not just one person...like odds are, damn near everyone of them - 'cept occasionally Honeycrisp comes up. They are similar but with Honeycrisp having way more intense flavor - like if you ate half a Honeycrisp then bit into a Pixie Crunch - I don't think you'd even taste the Pixie Crunch, its so much more mild than the HC. It has a subtle different flavor and is just light and sweet and cleaves off as you bite it....thats the CRUNCH! And I've got a nice little crop coming on and I'm way ahead of the damn Sawfly, Curculio and Codling Moth this year spray wise so - yeah man! - life is great!
