22LR Revolver

Nice ruger. Looks kinda like the bad guys guns in indiana jones movies.

Oldest kid broke my heart last year, called 22lr useless...... About 3 months later he bought a souped up 10/22 and loves the thing.

My initial impression is I’d say this Ruger Mark IV shoots on par with my Browning Buckmark both shoot better than my oldest boy’s Browning 1911-22 that is fun little gun but not as accurate as the others but both of them are target model guns so that’s to be expected. The S&W 617 shoots reasonable well also at least in single action in my hands not near as well in double action this is my first ever revolver so I’m definitely not as comfortable shooting it as the others.

22lr may not be powerful compared to centerfire rounds but it’s got more than enough power to kill all sorts of stuff and with the price of 22lr ammo compared to anything else you can shoot to your hearts content and not break the bank that alone makes 22lr invaluable to have.

What do you feed your 22's. I try to get CCI standard 40gr solids. Otherwise CCI blazer, not sure ifthey make that any more.

22's are pretty cheap so I spend a few extra bucks for the CCI's. Added bonus theyre subsonic in a 26 inch barrel.

ITs great in NY, you got to do background checks for ammo. Usually got to wait 15 minutes for an answer from the gustapo.

I picked up my new .22 revolver last night. Gonna be a lot of fun revolving around this when I’m done building it up.

ruger charger?

Wife is talking more about pistol permit again. She like the feel of the springfield hellcat. Wish she'd be into a glock 43. 9mm isn't too crasy and she doesn't shoot often. Not sure she would appreciate a 22lr. But, what you guys thnik would be closest to the hellcat or glock 43 in a 22? Will be trying to get her the longest barrel she is ok with. Dont see her carrying a pistol, just form home n range.

That is a charger, yes.

I have all sorts of 22 ammo on hand mostly cheap stuff but I like to keep some of the Norma Tac 22 on hand as a better quality ammo once in a while I’ll buy some CCI. I got buddy that does 22 competitions and he runs Norma stuff also it’s worth a try.

Man if she likes the feel of the hellcat I think I’d roll with that.

I don’t think I would worry too much about barrel length. I own a G-20 and carried a G17 and a G22 at work and I have always shot my G27 better than any of them. I think it is because my medium size hand fits it better.
