Yeah......I'm old....grin. After writing this......I actually think the price I said was for a 1022 Ruger. I gave that to my grandson. I think I bought the pistol a bit later? Can't recall for certain....but it was just before you needed to register them.....and that was somewhat important to me at that time. Damn Biden! grin
Edit: Reminds me of a story.....I gotta tell. (IK-IK) I was 23 years old and did not own much. I wanted to buy a wedding ring for my wife....and really could not afford anything. I had just got out of the Army...and barely had a job yet. I had purchased a Winchester 22 auto loader a year or three previous.....and I asked if my friend would buy it from me. He didn't have much either....but he gave me $20 for the rifle (which was really a good shooter). I gathered up as much money as I could and made a down payment on a pair of rings for my wife and myself.
Fast forward 45 years....and I invite my old friend to my lake cabin....along with his wife. He says he has something for me......and gives me back that same 22 Winchester rifle....but with a scope. I tried to pay him for it but he refused. He said the look on my face was well worth anything I might give to him. What a guy. I still have that gun. It's nothing special as far as value......to anyone except me. We are still wearing those gold bands. 54 1/2 years later.
One of these days I my just shoot that old gun again.
