2026 Tree prices

I was planning on trying some trees from MidWest Deer trees next year , but apparently for 2026 they upped their prices to $50.00 per tree (supposedly 4 to 6 foot ) With a minimum order of three trees. From what I've heard their trees usually run on the smaller size closer to 4 foot. What's the most you folks are willing to pay for a bare root tree ?. I guess for the money Whitetail crabs has the best prices $28.95 for their 4'-6' trees.

I’m willing to pay more to get a known rootstock and to have confidence in the vendor’s ability to pick varieties. Not all named varieties are created equal.

Tree prices are starting to get very expensive now. I think im done buying fruit trees. Grafting my own from here on out. It's very rewarding!

I hear you , I only have room for 8 more trees in my plot . So most likely after next year I'm done too . I'll get 4 trees from Whitetail crabs (their trees have grown the best here so far) then it be either 4 trees from Blue Hill.....or suck it up and try 3 of Midwest deer's $50.00 Holy Crab trees , even though that's more than I want to spend. Too bad they don't have a small/med/large tree size to choose from and priced accordingly.

I haven't ordered trees from Terry in a year or two. But he's such a great guy to work with. I think he's the most reasonable on prices. Midwest does have some interesting trees. But I think the prices are to high for what you get. I have seen some people get some pretty small trees from them.

Exactly , at $40 per tree I was willing to try three of them . However at $50.00 per tree with Tax at 7.625% and a 3% Processing fee for transactions the price is too high for what you get, even if they have golden roots.

Bang for buck and time foodplots trump trees.

done at camp and home after this year.

Thought 40 was already pricey.

You could buy a few cheap extras from whitetail, then topwork with scion of choice next year.

Many times you get a 2 year headstart buying over grafting. Time is expensive too.

4000+ known apples plus probably 200 deer crabs folks talk about. Pretty much have a nice orchard from about any nursery.

Midwest seems to have some unique gems though.

I like 3ft trees with nice roots. Easy to get for $30. $25 is even doable.

Midwest trees courthouse and buckman look nice to me. Have both on M111 and anty this year.
