I love shed hunting! In fact I didn't go bowhunting once this fall but can't wait to get out after some dropped antlers. Checked the driveway cam. It says I'm too early to get started but have reason to be excited.
We have a few shed bucks of varying ages already. Also last night watched a 4 yr old throw down with a 3 yr old and no antlers came off. And watched 2 yearlings engage in some aggressive sparring. Must be a fawn in heat.
Most of the deer here in NW Missouri are still wearing their antlers. Last year's latest picture of antlers was March 2, so I would anticipate seeing these drop any day now.
On the way home from Northern Minnesota, my wife saw a nice Kansas 10 point browsing on a storm downed tree yesterday. I can't recall seeing a buck that had not shed this late, especially given some of the warmer weather we've had.
It’s been several years ago, but a game warden checked our turkey tags once and had seen a buck that morning with both sides. Mid April. We saw one a week ago with both sides. Latest I have seen personally.
I had a nice sized non typical with both sides still on as of April 5th in my backyard. An hour later on the same cam I had 2 that already had bumps starting to grow out of their heads.
