2nd year Wildlife Group Franklin whip.

My belief from the start knowing the unique characteristics of the Franklin once out there will prove to be an excellent variety to attract Whitetail. Trees I care for on my property reached 3rd leaf this spring. Most are strong over 15 feet tall and have fruit on them.

    Fall food plot mixes?

My 2 acre food plot is split into two abutting plots. One is a mix of red clover and chicory. The other is a mix of Imperil Whitetail oats plus, Red Clover and chicory. The oats are the main attraction favored by the deer.

Do your B-118 trees lean badly?

Most of my B118 are straight. Because B118 is an early bearig rootstock when compared to a M111. I remove the fruit set until 4th year. Because of the precocious bearing nature of B118, I anchor them with a T-bar on the west-northwest side. Flat white electrical fencing wire is used to tie it...

    Ice Cider

Living here in Franklin Vermont I have had the good fortune to have seen for myself the process of making ice cider where it was originated in the eastern townships of Quebec. Cyroextraction is the process of allowing the fruit to freeze on the trees for a period of time where dehydration of the...
