Wal-mart still has chestnuts

as mentioned above, stopped along the interstate to get some wal-mart stuff and they still have the CHO Dunstans. 11 of'm. They're down to half price, which is still over $17. I'm thinking of offering the manager a bundle price to see what he'll do. But, I keep telling myself I need to spend more time hunting and less time digging holes and carrying water.

They're at 22802, if anyone's interested.

If any of you are in GA (near Stone Mountain) and want some, I seeded some from https://chestnutridgeofpikecounty.com/ last year and have them in grow bags. Think I have some extra tree tubes if needed. Not free, but would be reasonable.

I am surprised they still have them. I know Chestnut Hills shipped to Wal Marts last fall for the first time. I picked up four everbearing mulberry for $10 about two weeks before Christmas. They dropped the prices on a Saturday morning so I didn't try to talk them down further since the Garden Manager probably wasn't there. They went straight from $35 to $10. The chestnuts went down to $5 and $10 about a week later, but I have enough of them already. They should start shipping their spring shipments in a couple of weeks. I remember that my local Wal Marts got their shipments February 13 last year. I would love to be able to pick up some more of their fruit trees for $10. My $5 pears have done great, but my $5 persimmons died their first year.

Go check out these links to see if the prices drop further over the next few days. Just type in the zip code for your local area.
