If it is like the other camo sxs I have a hard timing paying the premium of the camo. I just got a white mule pro fxt 1500 for the camo and I can deal. You could probably put a wrap on it for a lot less

This is a good point. Never thought of this.

Or just put nature's camo on it (mud and dust)

Me too, but with the current supply chain issues, it was either take the camo and pay for it, or wait who knows how long for another buy opportunity. With my existing ATV headed into the shop for the 4th time in less than a year, I didn't feel I could wait. I needed something dependable as my primary. I still hope to get my ATV back up and running.

I get that was just a response to a question. I had to drive 4.5 hours one way to pick mine up in august or take it on the chin price wise. Just about anything a guy wants to buy now is a take it or leave it deal.

Well, I picked it up this morning. Overall, I like it. Other than a little test drive around the parking lot, I haven't had much chance to drive it yet. I dropped it off at the farm this afternoon. I did take a couple pics. I'll post them when I get home and am not using metered internet.

I used it for the first time at the farm. I did notice lots of rattling and some squeaking when the RPMs go up a bit when driving. I did not push it as it is new. I never went over 10 mph, but I noticed this when I was going up hills.

Here are the pics I promised:

I did wire a connector to the battery and ran it out next to the passenger seat so I can plug it into a trickle charger when no tin use.

I'm now trying to figure out how to pick up deer. I have a GreatDay loader on my ATV that I like, but if the ATV gets fixed, I'll want to keep it on there. They have also gone up considerably in price since I bought mine and you can't even get them with the supply chain issues these days. So, my brain is working on an idea that I can fabricate myself.... Stay tuned, but If folks have alternate suggestions they have used to load deer I'd like to hear them.

Thanks,

Jack

Mount a roller on top and use your winch.

My parents have had a pioneer 700-4 deluxe in camo for a few years now. Depending on what kind of rattles you're hearing it might just be part of how they are. My parents' rattles a bit.

That's not how you break it in. Gotta drive it like you stole it!

Honda says drive it easy for the first 15 mi. No restrictions after that.

Can you explain a little more? Do you mean run the winch over the cab and load into the bed?

Oh yes, one more constraint on loading deer. I don't have much depth in the ATV shed. I don't want anything that substantially increases the length. The Great Day folks tell me that the bracket they use for their loader (which runs off the winch), adds about 11" to the overall length of the pioneer. This would be too long for my storage.

Jack

Yes, when I researched them, there are folks who say they had lots of rattles and such. Most say they have been able to find and remediate them to some extent.

Yes sir, over the top. Could make a big "u" to fit in the stake pockets right behind the cab sticking up high enough to clear and avoid rubbing the roof. Would need a roller, a round piece of pipe(in the center) would work but roller would take less force. Just a thought

Thanks! That is one option that I had considered. When the bed is tilted and gate open, the gate is a couple feet off the ground, so I would need a board or something to extend the bed to the ground. The other issue I found was that when the bed is open, a straight line from the roll bar to the ground goes through the end of the lifted bed. That would require a third roller on the bed. Then, I'm not sure how much pressure it would take from the winch line before the dump bed would want to be pushed out of the dump position.

The weight of deer is light enough that I'm thinking a boat style crank hand winch connected to the lip of the bed would be fine. I could even carry a cordless drill with a socket adapter if I was too lazy to crank. The bed is approximately 3'x3'. When the bed is in the dump position, if you draw a line from the end of the gate at the same angle as the bed, it is about 3' till you hit the ground. So I'm toying with the idea of some kind of folding ramp that would fit in the bed folded when not in use along with a hand crank winch

Thanks,

Jack

Many different ways you could do it. I just thought the way I suggested would allow you to use your winch on the front and go up and over.

Yes, I thought about that approach and I think it would work well for many UTVs. When I actually got this one in hand, and started taking measurements and such, I couldn't talk myself into going over the top. We do think alike as that was my initial thought.

How about the winch they sell for a truck receiver? I think they advertise for skinning deer but it would lift the deer for you. That would only take some sort of adaptor to fit the receiver unless they already make an adaptor for it? Hand crank on a pole.

That's an idea. The receiver is a full 2".
