Here are a couple pics of something that is going on with my leaves. These are from apple trees planted this spring. I did have lots of ants and since I sprayed 2 weeks ago it does look a little better and there are a lot less ants in the trees.
The ants were probably feeding on aphids which in turn were feeding on your newest leaves. If you sprayed and the ants have disappeared you probably took care of the aphids and your trees should begin to look better. Just my thoughts. :)
