River Cross Farm

sorry, I posted the wrong map pic, there are no markings on it. I got a little choked up while getting read to post those. I realized that the photo of my dad was when we were getting ready for the 2016 gun season and it would be his last. He passed away after a 9 day battle with cancer. Looking back, I’m glad a decided to snap a quick pic. Choked up, but very happy, we made many great memories together hunting and fishing! Wouldn’t change a thing!,

His is where the rifle stand is in this picture. for reference, I am standing between the stand and the food plot while taking this picture.B14B32AE-BED5-41A1-9B37-CE1A74CF4DDC.jpeg

We are currently in the middle of a select cut timber harvest. The work is being done by a local two-man crew so it is slower than I would like but the trade off is that they use skid steers so while they are cutting, they also pull all the buckthorn and any other invasive trees along with being very mindful of not tearing up the trails.
The first area that was cut was the ridge above the river. They cleared the mature aspen trees out of there but left a handful of nice ones to help with the regeneratio.
Check out this years growth…the parent trees were taken out in April. The regrowth is already over 9’ tall, 12’ in some places.1A04C93C-5821-462B-877C-788642118DA3.jpegC0FFDFAB-C2B9-473E-AF34-B66D4DC59A48.jpeg
