Make almost any camera a cell camera

Good to see the boy's are still hacking cameras - Havent seen the Hag name mentioned in years. I was part of Jesses Hunting page now Jesses Hunting and Outdoors when the camera hacking group blew up and Hag split off and started his homebrew page or Hags House.

We were hacking 35mm cameras and making trail cams - then digital cams and sharing the info with everyone. Then things got nasty - proprietary.... people started building and selling them and then they spun off into commercial sales - a lot of the cams out there now were born of the old Jesses Hunting page game cam forum. You think things got ugly with QDMA... lol
I should dig out my first 35 MM game camera build from those forum days and post it.... almost zero technology - a hacked cannon 35mm "sure shot owl" with power flash and a wal mart zenith brand 110 motion light tore down and rebuilt to run on a 9 volt battery.

Hag.... now that brings back memories!

Three sample pics by cell link. Two on two different covert cams, and 1 on wildgame cam. Wrong date on one covert

That deer's missing a head! LOL!

I picked up 2 more. I have 3 out now. One has 1 bar, one has 2 bars and 1 has 3 bars. They have all reported back to me (last connection was this morning at 8:01AM) and I received the pics from my installation/setup. Now the last 2 are in the big woods so I am hopeful that I will get some pics in a bucks core area.

We call him - Ichabod Crane

Don't know the name of the Headless Horseman.

Something in there about hoping for a "Big rack and little body!" (on deer too)

It is tempting to get another or two..especially with their first 100 photos free plan.

Has anyone tried a shorter delay time...30secs maybe?

I have an older Moutlrie camera that is sending me 3 pics on a shorter delay. I don't know what the delay is but I get 3 photos within a minute and it's working. I stuck this one up on a spot that was hot in November but right now the only 3 bursts that I've gotten was a sunlight change.

So, the way I read this is (screen grab from the web interface):
  • Your first month is free.
  • If you don't select a plan you get moved to the 100 photos per month.

BUT the phone app shows that the "Trial" is 7 days.

My 2 new cell-links are down to 1 day left. I'm going to see what happens after they pass the 7 day mark.

Yeah I was told the first 7 days were free. Mine is now showing 10/100 with 27 days left. Never entered payment info so it's supposed to just stop sending them once it hits 100. It'll be plenty for me if I just put it on a trail in the woods or something. Or put a longer delay on it on a field. I just enjoy getting the extra pictures along with my other cell cams. Have non-cellular cams out too of course.

My two new ones should "expire" today. Just in time because I got about a dozen pics yesterday from one of them (too bad they cut the resolution down so much on the pics). For me, that works because I at least know that I've got the camera (Wild Game) in a place in the woods (this is public land) where they are starting to travel (temps have finally cooled off). Has anyone tried the "high resolution package"?

My other cam (Moultrie) that's on my lease also triggered last night (and had been quiet for almost the whole week):

And the final result...

The two that I am not paying on went to 100 pics free. I just don't understand the 22 days left piece.

It will still take pics, and you can get them off the card. It just won't send any more pics until after the 22 days is up.

My only complaint as of right now is image qaulity, seems like the night pics come across better than daylight. If past 20 yards it can be tough to tell what deer you are looking at

I guess the 22 plus the first week is about 30 days - which equals a month (ish).

That's how my Micro works. The pictures aren't the best quality, but I try to work around the limitations since they give me 100 free pics a month. I try to set it close to where the deer will be and in a spot that I know deer will not linger but will pass by. It's a good tradeoff for me. The quality is good enough to identify individual bucks this way so I can tell exactly which one I'm looking at. I'm not able to visit my property often, so the free plan does work well for what I need.

My pictures are much like yours. I purchased 50 HD photos, but I kept getting a message that the ones I'd selected weren't available for download. Once I updated the firmware it was fine though. Unfortunately, the HD photos aren't appreciably better lol. Less grainy, but nothing compared to some of the better quality cams out there. You get what you pay for. It's a tool for a job, a cheap Harbor Freight kind of tool. I hope it last a few seasons.

Do you think the photos are based on your camera (Like a low res pic on the camera vs high res)? Or do you think the Cell-Link devices is still trimming them down somehow? I've been tempted to try it but I don't have any pic that I really want to see better - yet.

Everyone,

I had a cell link but returned it.. In that time I had ordered two extra cell link SD card/cord thingy from spypoint as extras. I have no use for them but will let them go for $20 bucks plus shipping. I paid 12.99 each plus shipping.

anyone interested? I can add pictures if needed.

I was listening to chasing giants podcast last night and they liked the wise eye.I know it's more expensive
