Anyone know of a NRCS program for edge feathering?

My neighbor talked to a guy who does edge feathering for people. Told him there is a program that pays by the acre. Supposedly this guy will do the work and your left with a little cash after paying him.

Just received a letter in the mail today with cost share info for edge feather and a host of other programs. EQIP, CSP, NRCS - Start with NRCS, says they are cost sharing 90%.

Yes, it's one of the EQIP plans. They pay about $400/acre in Kentucky. It's a subprogram under the early successional habitat programs. There's a bunch of programs for the habitat manager. My foodplots and pollinator planting are in one of the programs. I did a forest management plan, and that qualified me to get paid to take out all the invasives and hack and squirt everything that's not an oak in my woods. There's also access roads in there as well.

I’ll stop in next week. I don’t like crp like programs but if they’re going to pay me to what I’m going to do on my new ground anyway,....I’ll take the welfare.

MDC does. It's cost shared by Quail/Pheasants Forever in my County. Never costs me anything, when I've done it. Give your PLC a shout.

im a huge fan of eqip and CSP, the majority of my entire property is in one or both of these , i was in cRP and and didnt renew . IF you are a habitat geek they have almost any type of practice you can imagine. And it helps pay for your habit and then some!
