When do you recommend cutting clover?
What are the pros and cons of cutting it now (may)? I live in central Virginia.
I have fantastic growth and in some places it's six inches tall. I usually only cut it in August.
I usually plant buckwheat for the organic properties during summer.
I got a rude surprise with my last soil test. The phosphate was very high.
So I'm trying to plant some legumes to assist with the high levels of phosphate.
Is there anything I can do in order to reduce P?
Will legumes help reduce it? Or should I even worry about it?
For a fall plot I usually plant winter wheat,turnips and beets in those areas.
For spring time I plant buckwheat.
Can you help me with my soil reports?
I have three separate soil tests completed. (two food plots and one apple/pear orchard)
The two soil tests on the food plots came back 3.1% organic matter 7.4 pH.
The orchard came back with a 7% organic matter and a 5.8 pH.
What does this mean? (In laymen...
Great idea to hinge cut the area around the creek. I've called the local extension office and they have cost sharing programs for burns and creating fire breaks.

It was commercial thinning by the previous owner. The diamter of trees average 10" that's my best guess. I wasn't planning on selling trees. It's managed only for wildlife.
