Cuddeback's Cuddelink

Just FYI, I was told by CS that the $10 a month or $120 annual cell plan is not available for the Special. You must get the $15 a month or $180 annual cell plan is the minimum you can get.
this is correct, i think i lined it out in an earlier post here but to simplify- the total investment would be $480- this would get you 2 of the new J cameras, a K dual cell and a year long plan. The plan can be purchased anytime between now and June 1st 2020, Cuddeback will ship you the K armed and ready to go after you purchase the plan. Obviously you can add cameras as you need to the network. Next year we will have an update that will allow up to 24 cameras on one cell plan. Currently it's 16. The update will also offer some other advantages and is in final testing now.

Hey fellas, I have 4 sets of 12 rechargeable AA’s with charger for J cams. Purchased with the solar panel kit and don’t need them. I hate to see them go to waste. If anyone wants them just pay postage and they’re yours.

Quite kind of you! I'd put them to good use and happy to pay whatever the postage is. I'll send you a PM

John, does that mean the update will make a single system handle up to 24 nodes instead of the 16 now? Or is that cell plan going to cover 2 separate systems?

A single system will handle 24 .

Will this just be a firmware update to existing cameras?
correct, any cuddelink camera will be able to take the firmware update> the same update will increase the channels from 16 to well over 200 to help eliminate any chance of neighboring interference with other cuddelink users.
We are also in final testing stages of the same firmware update to make a huge upgrade to the cuddelink system. As soon as i get the all clear ill give everyone on the forum the details on that and exactly what it does.
When the craziness of hunting season and camera season dies down, i plan on dissolving this thread and starting two new threads. One focused on questions on how the system works and what it can do and the other for trouble shooting. Since many on here use the thread to get questions answered we want to keep them separate so its easier for all to navigate. Bill has given me permission to do so and i think it will be beneficial for all.

John, I had two of my g cams go runaway on me. One filled the card and stopped the other ran out of juice to take pics on a 32 gb card. I retrieved them, shut them off, let them set for 24 hrs and then put in new cards to see what they would do. I changed nothing. They both are taking pics as they had been programmed prior to runaway.

Any idea the issue? What would be the next course of action for me and these cameras?

Thank you.

i would call Cuddeback CS and either ask that they send you a couple new fresnel lenses to swap out in case you have a bad lens or ask for an RA to send them back for repair or replacement. You can also change the setting on your cl count to 25(default is 250), this limits the amount of images the camera can send to que. CS is going to ask you to check if your camera is on time lapse since MANY, MANY, people do this unknowingly, i know you dont but be prepared for that question. The images would have a clock in the lower left if they are in time lapse.

I've had 4 of my G series do this. 1 was sent back and replaced, 1 is on it's way back now and 2 just started working fine again. I never got a reason why the 1st one did it, I just received a new camera.

John what goes wrong with the Fresnel lens? Does it get scratched or?????

they can degrade over time, sunlight can do it or just time alone can do it - when this issue occurs its almost always the fresnel lens, a bad sensor or moisture causing it.

John I just want to thank you for your tremendous effort with this forum and all the answers and info you provide. I know it has definitely increased my knowledge of the system and by default my enjoyment of using the system. I'm so glad I found this thread and I appreciate everyone's input and continued support on this forum. Thanks!

Btw if anyone knows of any sweet Black Friday deals, other than the J/K cam deal, please post them.

I also would like info on Black Friday deals, particularly on J cameras.

as far as black friday deals, the only deal that cuddeback sponsored this year is the 2 pack offer - anything else would need to come from a retailer on its own. There is Minimum advertised pricing on cuddeback so i dont think you will find much out there, everyone is focusing on the 2 pack promo. That said, you never know what you may find out there. even if you arent interested in a free dual cell the 2 pack is still a great deal as its essentially a J camera for $150 which is the lowest they have ever been. The free dual cell redemption card is in the box and its transferable so you could buy the 2 pack for the J's and pass on the free dual cell card to a friend or family member or even sell it to someone else if you can find someone willing to pay for it.

Thanks John, Midway had the best deal I could find, and the two pack is on the way.

Farmstead Outdoors have several package deals offering free Solar for each J camera.

Cuddeback should get an intern to read through this thread and build an FAQ. Lots of great information here. I’d also like to echo what others have said and thank you again for all your help and the others that have shared their knowledge/experiences.

this is already done and was part of our flyer this year, it needs to be updated and will include info on the new features coming in the firmware update for 2020. also keep in mind earlier firmware updates have made some of the info on the FAQ /specifaction page a bit outdated so not everything is 100% current. When i get the new FAQ sheet and flyer , ill post in the new thread as a sticky. attached is the dated 2019 version. thanks for the words! i appreciate it!
