Cuddeback's Cuddelink

I pulled my home unit card today. 4 cameras battery life still showing okay, been out close to 60 days. Half of those 60 were under 10 degrees with 7 days straight below freezing. I continue to be impressed with this system. I have the dual flash with D batteries. I was going to get a few LR IR with the AA batteries, but I think I will stay with just the dual flash.
How many pictures were there on the card when you pulled it? Were any of the cameras set for time lapse pictures?

Can ya post some of the pics? Good quality day/nite? Very intrigued by it as well

What's your guys opinion of getting the home unit (when it comes out) vs another camera for a home unit? There's a cost savings with the home unit, but with a second camera you would have... well... a second camera. If the radio system ever stopped working or one of the cameras went tits up the home unit would be worthless. At what cost point would the home unit be worth that gamble?

Honestly, it’s going to depend on your application of use I think. I would get a Home unit if I wanted to connect it straight to the pc or use it inside the house.

If my application was to go out and check the home unit on the property, I would probably just get another camera. Put it in an area that is easily accessible to get to and use it as the home unit. Plus at that Home camera you’ll get full res images instead of compressed images. if it were a stand alone home unit at lets say your where you park the truck it’s all compressed images.

I am going to consider just the stand alone Home cell unit when it comes out though. In this instance I would like that piece of hardware to only do what it’s intended. That way I know my battery setup is being used for that and not expected to also run a camera.

It really comes down to how you want to use it. Remember each piece takes up one node on you network as well. So that could factor in for some people.

It will be connected to the PC in the house...

Home unit would be fine then I would think.

I uploaded about 500 pictures from the past week. During the cold snap I was getting anywhere from 50-100 per camera. I have a 4 camera system. I have 2 on black flash and 2 on IR. Next time I make it to the 2 on IR, I will switch them to black. Just don't get pics of deer looking at or smelling the camera. I will own another 4 pack soon and a home unit when it comes out. I like the idea of the home unit as I can put it on my gate and not have to go into the woods at all. south ridge 1 (1).JPGT__00007.JPGT__00024.JPGT__00028.JPG

All of those were off a black flash remote camera and are the thumb nail size that gets sent. I didn't save any of the full size images from the home camera. Next time I will attach some of those.

Are all your pictures trigger real close to the camera like these or do you have some triggered beyond 30 yards?

I don't have anywhere set to get pics far out. All my cams are currently on trials coming from feeding areas. Waiting on antlers to drop.

Got material at local graphic's store that makes signs and tints windows. It's peel and stick vinyl material. Bought way more than I needed for $30.00 to do the 4 cuddelink IR cameras that i have. I'll have it to use on the next ones I get.

Not Hydrodip.
Vinyl Material that I got from a local Graphics Store.

I was just looking into wraps because I'm going to wrap my Kawasaki Mule. I came across this place and will probably order from them when the weather breaks. Look under the tab Film and Graphics when you get there and look for Camouflage Films. I ordered a sample 3"x3", they sent that out quick. That's all I have ever ordered from them. If you hit on the link it won't work, not for me anyhow, type it in yourself or copy and paste it.

Got them all wrapped and put 2 of them out. All it will take is 3 to get all the way to the end of the bottom. That's going up and over a small hill with timber. I'll be able to walk 30 feet and check the whole place. Not drivivg a mile up the bottom and back will be nice. When I check them I'll let you know how it works for me.

Did you find it time consuming to wrap the long range cameras.
