Holy Moly Batman!! That dude has some tine length!
Yeah he added a little from last year also if you notice he is missing about 10 in of passenger side g2. Had a brief discussion with myself wether or not I could let him walk with it gone. It was a short discussion and the answer is no if the shot presents itself.

Frosty morning in the blind over a beans and greens buffet. Non traditional morning spot but Big Deer was here 2 out of the last 3 days in the am daylight. I suspect he was after the herd doe with triplets who is an almost daily visitor. Triplets were here guessing the other two are locked down somewhere..

If it wasn't for the new blind I would have stayed in bed, raining/sleeting here till noon or so.

2F13DACC-CC5C-436C-AE27-7968B406A662.jpeg I made it out. Not gonna lie bed felt good. Climbed into stand and there was a dusting of snow and a calm wind. Didn’t take long for the wind to pick up and now it’s whipping pretty good. It also started to snow again. I saw 3 small bucks and a porcupine. 2 of the bucks decided to fight in front of me. If was funny watching a spike act like he was king of the woods. Now I’m back inside warming up

Shot a doe last night, but not a very good hit. Must have been low. Went out this morning to track. Cold and windy.

Very small drops every 5 feet or so. Then every 100 feet there will be two or three real nice spots before it goes back to little drips again. Tracked her for a quarter mile, losing the trail where she crosses a road. There's a 200 yard stretch between the road and a small river, walked all that with no sign of her.

Will be going back in a few hours to check the other side of river. All public land so that's good, but not confident at this point.

Good luck Barndog!

Same view for me also. Was headed somewhere else until the combines fired up. Two of them picking the corn field in the background.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they'll finish before dark.

Yeah I don't care what bueller says. It's 32 with 17 mph winds. It's cold.

Wait till morning. 15 here....
My wife's in Florida laughing at me.

Is that a good or a bad thing?

Depends. It would be better if they were finishing before dark. I'm in a brushy area between the field and the timber. Anything in that field needs a new place to hide.

Bad part is I've watched deer just step a few rows over from the combine until the last pass. Then they have to leave.

Skunked! Maybe it was a bad idea :)

Good luck Barndog!

No sign of her on the far side of the river. Very disappointing to have one get away.

One smallish buck and 2 does with a group of 4 fawns tonight. Oddly the buck ran to where the does came from, but when they came my way he was not in tow. I dont think I will ever figure out deer. Oh well, good luck fellows as you continue the quest.

One last hunt in the morning, then it's back to work. :( Been at the farm since the 24th, passed some good ones but no horns on the ground. Going to be cold in the morning.
