Xypex for water hole?

Anyone use xypex before?

I have a naturally existing conical depression near a food plot that would make a perfect water hole. It would probably hold about 300 gallons if sealed properly. Liners are expensive, and I'm worried they wouldn't handle the winters. Concrete with xypex seems like a promising option, but I only just recently heard about it.

Is there a better permanent option?

Probably not what you're looking for, but I dug out a hole and put a tractor supply plastic trough in it, has been holding well for a second year now. They make some pretty large ones, but obviously they can get pricey the bigger they get.

Yeah that's what I was trying to avoid, but it seems like it's what everyone does, so I may as well start with that. I think it was about 100 bucks for a decent one that I could probably keep full through the summer.

Hardest part is digging the hole haha. If it's in a shaded area and sloping it will probably do ok

Well my problem is that the hole is already there, and it's huge. But the soil is sandy and can't hold any water. So I have to somehow make a 110 gallon plastic tub fit in the bottom of the hole.

It will be a lot of work, but I think it will be worth it.

they also make pond liners, which is what I think you were originally asking about. If you have the hole that should be more natural looking and likely cheaper?
