Why is there such a lack of value to a human life in today's society?

I'll say this - with decades of observance to politics here in the U.S. - violent rhetoric and actions did not - not - happen in recent history here until Trump hit the scene. No previous presidents of either party instigated a violent insurrection, told people to "fight like hell", and stood by silently as the violent mob on Jan. 6th chanted, & wanted to hang the vice-president .... his own vice-president. (Value for human life????) He's told innumerable lies over the course of his entire lifetime - not just in office, and screwed many of his own business "partners" in the past. He's run a number of his businesses into the ground as total failures - and people still think he's the answer to their sorry state in life. He pushes for cutting medical care for millions of Americans, while shoveling trillions of dollars in tax breaks to the billionaires over the next decade. How is that "pro-life"???? Many of his supporters will lose their Medicare / Medicaid, or have their benefits slashed, and Social Security is next on the hit list. Many of those supporters are learning in many "red" states just how painful life is going to get without adequate medical coverage. Any working class, American stiff (of either party) who believes their lives are going to get fabulously better because of that guy's actions ...... is dreaming. Remember he said on numerous occasions publicly, that he wanted to be a dictator. No authoritarian, "strongman" type of leader in any country does justice for their people - and this pustule is no different.

Didn’t even read all of it. But obummer brought out a lot of anger. Elections have consequences I believe he uttered. And so they do. Some of us like the consequences when they go our way. Some don’t.

I think it is a number of things - I do believe the degradation of the church in todays society has something to do with it. I believe the number of broken homes, one parent families, revolving door marriages have something to do with it. I believe the proliferation of drugs has something to do with it. I believe the lack of work ethic has something to do with it - the last three - a lack of responsibility. I believe the democratic party left wingers have hurt a lot. Their disdain of law enforcement - defund the police, letting looters and rioters do as they want. It seems now it is a requirement when democrats get on the public stage they must utter a couple f-bombs. We got our mouth washed out with soap - now they wear it like a badge. Of all the great democrats in the US the Dems could have chosen to martyr - George Floyd. If that is the best you can do - celebrate the life of a man who was a life long criminal - you are viewing things the wrong way and not holding people to high enough standard. The dems now champion criminals. They go to another country in support of criminals, and they ignore innocent US citizens killed by the criminals they invited into the country. I see this stuff in the news and my 70 year old brain just can not justify a lot of what is going on now concerning the degradation of our values.

All valid points but something everyone overlooks is your food supply. I will be chatting with some very prominent Dr soon to get there honest food health assessments. When I read on here how everyone just pours gly and 24d on every dam field and washes their hand and oh its OK knowing full well its going into the aquifers that you drink it really grinds me I understand I will get ridiculed and hate messaged for saying it but for christ sake can't you live without a weed in your field. With whats going on in farm fields all across this country is bad enough but to add more every day the very conservationists who say they care about their land I can't defend it. Let me be clear I have worked in situations that most of you can't imagine and I have seen everything you speak about first hand.

You’re right, sad part is farm fields are drop in the bucket. Floridians blame the farmer for the red tide while they dump N and who knows what in excess on their lawn next to the canal.

I agree with you, and yes, that makes me a hypocrite because I use chemicals.
I'm in the middle of big ag country. It's hard for me to very worked up about my chemical use when I see giant sprayers blanket every every square mile in the spring using multiple modes of action. Then the last 2 weeks it's been spray planes putting on fungicide, next it will be the planes spraying for aphids in the beans. The county sprays the ditches, every lawn in town is spotless and green etc etc..
I hope I live to see the day when we don't blanket the earth in poison. I know tillage is a bad word these days but I'd rather till my plots than give them a chemical bath. I'm not sure if we have the ability to feed the world without chemicals. If for no other reason, just the fact that that's what everyone knows.

100% agree. But, politicians pander to the base. They want votes. They want the majority. The vast majority of people now don't want to be told to strive for perfection. They want to be told that nobody is perfect and that it's s ok that you aren't perfect. In my opinion it's to the point that they are actually celebrating the imperfections more than the honorable accomplishments. And the imperfections that used to be really bad are now normalize.

Yes I get the same feeling when folks on here casually mention all their herbicide usage and in the same paragraph spout off about tillage evils. I do both but more light tillage vs spray and go years between doing anything besides mow with an emphasis on clover. Yeah, things get a bit weedy and grasses expand until you have to do something maybe every 5-7 yrs.

But clover does not go dormant in summer here being north enough not to get extreme heat so a routine based on that works.

I agree 100% - and you cant discuss this without making it political. All political parties do it - but one of them does it a lot more. The concept of protecting the criminal more than the victim is such a foreign concept to me, there is not one brain cell in my head that justifies that.

Yep! I'm disgusted most times I search the media. The shining light is that I'm surrounded daily by people who don't live that way. I don't know where or how these people exist (the one's who celebrate the criminals). But that's not the reality I see in the people I associate with.

PBS, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, the big one is School. We let them take over our schools. Garbage in, garbage out. I said the pledge of allegiance every day! Today only my grand kids do because I’m lucky enough to have them in a Christian school. Trump can’t fix this. We have to.
