Hey all, I’m Ethan and I’m from North Carolina. I’m 14(I think the minimum age on this site is 13), but I’ve managed to get into hunting and food plotting over the past several years. I tend to have a good bit of questions about food plotting, etc, and Google has proven to not give me very good answers. There ain’t many people around us that knows a lot about food plotting so that’s why I figured this would be a good idea. As far as hunting goes, me and my dad have been lucky enough to be able to kill many deer and turkeys off of our little bit of land. My dad works 12’s, so most of the food plotting and deer managing is left up to me, a rear-tine craftsman tiller, and an earthway broadcast spreader. Even though im 14, I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to get into things like hunting, food plotting, reloading, dirtbike riding(I race in motocross), etc, I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to do things that a lot of kids nowadays have no clue about. So either way, I’m excited to be here and look forward to hearing from y’all.

Hi all, I'm a hunter and grafter who stumbled on this site quite a few times looking for information on apple rootstocks, obscure varieties, and disease resistance. That little 'digression' over on the scion exchange thread inspired me to email Cummins to see if they could swap out a tree on B.118 for one on P.18, as it is destined for bear and moose country. I'm looking forward to exchanging scions and information. I have accumulated over 40 varieties in 3 years. Now back to pruning and scion collecting.

Mike from Wisconsin. Recently went from glorified trespasser :) to property owner. Almost 300 acres that I plan to hunt and manage for as long as I’m able. I’ve already lurked through many dozens of threads that interest me here. Thanks for that!

My main experience with habitat management, other than lots of reading, has been helping my friend with projects on his farm over the past 12 years. I’ve planted trees and food plots, managed invasives, built exclusion fences, maintained trails, and whatever else we could get ourselves into. Loved every minute.
But starting this spring, I have my own land and a wish list that’s already as long as my arm. Let’s just leave it with .....I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS!! :)

I'm Sean in Georgia. Google directed me here a few months ago when researching plots, seed blends and planting methods.

I am 50 years old and as direct result of my midlife crisis, I purchased 255 acres in Talbot County near the Flint River last November and also acquired a few toys to help me with whipping the property into shape. More on the details coming up in the property tour thread.

I've been an on again / off again hunter since childhood. Family and career obligations took away from play time and now I'm at a full circle point in my life where I can slow down whilst getting back to my roots so to speak.

Thanks to all of you that freely share your knowledge and I hope to contribute as well.

Hi guys, my name is Ben I am 31, and I own 52 acres in Wisconsin. I’ve been a long time no-name lurker on here. I purchased my property when I was 21 back in 2011 while in the military. I got to work the property some when I would go home on leave, but didn’t get to hunt it until I got out in 2014. I killed my first buck on it in 2015. Prior to me purchasing it, it was pretty much all tall red maple with no cover. I could see from one end to the other. It’s safe to say that I’ve dropped hundreds of trees, if not close to a thousand on that property. I plant a lot of food plots every year, almost all of my mixes I base off of Lick Creek’s mixes. PauI was a real innovator when it came to food plots for deer. I have also planted a few thousand trees and shrubs as well. Aside from my own property, I also work on a good number of friends and families properties as well to help them out. I work as a search and rescue swimmer/ crew chief at Bristow SAR in Louisiana and I was a swimmer in the military prior to ending up down here. I have a schedule that allows me to hunt and work on my property far more than most, to the point I am running out of things to do on my property and people I already know. My profession is search and rescue and has been since 2008, but my passion is habitat work. Recently, I decided I wanted to make a second career out of doing habitat work. I’m not here to advertise myself, but instead to continue to learn and also contribute where I can to those in need rather than mooch of others knowledge like I have for all these years. If anyone asks I like the color Stihl and Kubota Orange.
