What Type PTO Shaft?

This right here shows how far AI has yet to come. You can tell by this description AI has never attached a collard yoke pto shaft on larger equipment in 100 degree heat

My explanation would go something like this

“While the collard yoke supplies a secure attachment - that is if you can ever get this abomination of a design attached, without passing out from heat stoke while attempting the connection. Who in their right mind would ever think pulling backward and forward at the same time, while picking of a heavy object from an awkward position had one ounce of merit whatsoever.”

In my opinion, this should go down as one of the worst inventions in history.
My buddy said the most profound thing I’ve ever heard years ago…he said his goal in life is to have a tractor for every attachment he has so he never has to change out another as long he lives. He’s up to 5 tractors so he’s getting damn close!

I am getting close - I have three tractors😉

Easier and cheaper to add these simple attachments: pats ez change, a hydraulic top link, a PTO adaptor (with a side push pin) from any farm store. Golden.

How many inches does that add - four or five
I just ordered one for my PHD. Online pictures and reviews show it adds 4". I am running a Pat's quick attach setup, so the additional length is not an issue.

Sorry I'm just the other way I find the collar easier to slid on than the push button as it's hard to push unless I remember to spray every time.

BLASPHOMY! ;)

I have a new pto coming in from agri supply - with push pin attachment. The guy I talked to said no reason to get a collared yoke - said they sell by far more push pin because everyone complains about the collared yokes.

I didnt realize how difficult it was to find the replacement pto - it is 20” longer than I need so will have to cut it down. More expensive than I would have thought - and it had to ship motor freight - cost me $680 and that was the cheaper model - made in China. The one not made in China would have been around $1100 delivered

This is absolutely a crazy price....IMO. I would not pay that much for a new shaft. I would buy a new implement before paying that kinda price....or as said earlier....get the conversion deal. Can be used on so many implements as needed. I think the bastard shaft coupler we are talking about is made by Eurocardin.....a French company. They offer a strong, triangular shaft coupling....with bullshit tractor couplers. I do not know of any good words for this outfit....other than they must be cheaper than the others. At one time....back in the 50's almost everyone offered a mating shaft that was about 1" square shaft with a female tube that mated with this shaft. I suppose the roll formed tube shaft connector was cheaper than the American version......so Eurocardin has gotten allot of biz over time.....vs the USA version.....at a slightly higher cost. Money talks on low-cost implements. I will not buy another implement with this bogus coupler. F' em.

I did not buy a new shaft because of the coupler, the shaft was bent and had to be replaced. I could not find a pto shaft locally at any farm stores, tractor supply, or atwoods. I found another online from another company - but they were out of stock - also China made. Guy there said prices for China made had gone up because of tariffs. I have bush hogging I have to get done - soon. The six series, with slip clutch, and length made It have to come motor freight for some reason. Believe me, I didnt want to pay that for it - but could not find one to fit in the three or four days I looked. Plenty of ones too short - that were all in the $400 price range. The motor freight is what raised the price so much. Yes, the Eurocardin is high, high. Another online company had just the front half of the pto shaft system - but there was .100 difference in outer diameter of the shaft - so that wouldnt work. Agri supply - which has a lot of stuff - does not offer a front shaft only - which for me - would have been an extremely easy fix - but no such luck. A new rotary cutter is $3000. I did order two of the push pin couplers - but wont need it on this new shaft. To be honest, I dont have nearly as much trouble with the cat one bush hogs and the collared couplers - but they still arent as easy as a push pin. Hooking up that 7 ft rotary cutter with a collared coupler is a bitch. That pto shaft is HEAVY

I have an area I park implements on that looks pretty flat. It isn’t.

I don’t care how many times I hook up 3 point stuff. It’s never easy.

In and out of the cab 27 times. Quick hitch my ass.
