NO reason at all. I hate that collar-type PTO connection. It really sucks. Whomever invented that POS should be in prison....or have his fingernails pulled out.....or worse. Change that dude and move on.I bent the inner shaft on my PTO assembly. My current pto shaft has a collar connection to the tractor as pictured below

I use this pto shaft on a 7’ Frontier Rotary cutter. Is their any reason why I couldnt use a push pin type connection yoke - as below

No slip clutch pictured there. Just a bullshit connector that nobody can operate. The guy that developed that set up should be lynched. Is the top yoke picture have a slip clutch built into it? I am not familiar with that rubber disk/cylinder type. The slip clutch is just what came to mind when I saw that. If that is the case then I would say the push in version is probably not the route to go.
I agree - whomever invented the collar attachment should be sentenced to a life of attaching large implement pto shafts with collar yokes, in 100 degree heatNo slip clutch pictured there. Just a bullshit connector that nobody can operate. The guy that developed that set up should be lynched.
you probably already do this, I auger my post hole digger down in the dirt where it stands by itself when I take it off my tractor.I HATE COLLARED PTO YOKE. Making matters worst is that my ONLY remaining collared shaft implemented is a post hole digger, which is the most awkward, frustrating implement I own.
Agreed! There are so many pinch points that can get you with a PHD....and often the 3 Point links require some changes to get an auger to the right height. One implement I hate to attach. Mine has that collar too...and it sucks. I also have that collar style connector on my cone spreader.....but I leave the Speedco PTO extension on that spreader and the Speedco has a side push button.....solving the situation. That PTO shaft would be too short if not for the Speedco. Win / Win for me on that one.I HATE COLLARED PTO YOKE. Yes, I do dig it into the ground, then use T-posts to support the arms. A push button yoke would be so much better. The sad part is that I would use it more if it was not such a pain to hook up. I have an archery target frame project using RR ties I am putting off because of the frustration using the PHD.you probably already do this, I auger my post hole digger down in the dirt where it stands by itself when I take it off my tractor.
Gotta say.....that I have had my PHD hanging in the corner of my pole shed for quite some time before loaning it out. If I used it more.....I would then hang it on the aforesaid posts that stick out of the ground about 5 feet high. <----this really simplifies attachment as you do not fight all the weight and it simply hangs from these poles. I worry that if I were to bury it in the ground it would rust away....lol.Yes, I do dig it into the ground, then use T-posts to support the arms. A push button yoke would be so much better. How many inches does that add - four or fiveHere is that extension I am talking about. Get one...problem solved (unless it makes your PTO shaft too long) . Also if you use PATS EZ Change this can add the proper length for other implements.
