What killing my chestnuts?

Thanks for the info and help guys. As long is it’s not blight then I can work on the other issues. The area does stay very wet in the spring so I’m gonna work on that

Another one is dying it seems. I didn’t see any bug damage but will look closer tomorrow. Kinda lost what to do.

Also those other 2 that died never resprouted so not sure what that means as far as what is causing my problems.

Cut it open and look at the inside. Your others died from phytophthora root rot. There's nothing you can do to prevent it.

I've had a time with ambrosia beetles. They target mulberries and chestnuts at my place. They've killed a few of mine, but they have always came back with suckers. I have one chestnut that was hit this past spring. It is a decent size and managed to leaf out, but the leaves never got to full size. So far none of the leaves have started to brown. It has pushed new growth, but we're talking 2-3 inches or so. You guys think this tree will make it?
