What are these

greyphase

5 year old buck +
I've been finding some of these bad boys in my apple trees. Have been able to reach and destroy all the nests so far.

Appears to be tent caterpillars

We call them sack worms......not good.

Spraying Sevin should take care of them and any other stranglers that are hiding unseen on the trees.

If you are removing the 'nests' you should only do so near dusk when they have all returned. During the day they spread out around the tree. If you remove it during the day there might be enough left to create another nest.

Or just spray the crap out of the nest, when they return they will get a drink of the good stuff :emoji_alien:

Oriental fruit moth larvae

Go with John's method in post # 5. Tent caterpillars are much the same - pull the webs out at dark and step on them. A size 10 boot works wonders.
