What a mess!

Some serious biomass there! #Soilhealth

Cash crop?

Abandoned fields like that make some awesome deer and pheasant cover. What are you planting there now?

Fall plot- I seeded rye, oats, forage beans, red clover.

Holy buckets is that thick! Please keep this one updated, I'm curious how that responds. I think you could have down throw and mow avocado seeding with that amount of biomass.

Is that dog fennel I'm seeing an abundance of?

You just mowed what I see as beautiful habitat! But we need plots too. Carry on................

There some food plot pioneers from the 1970s that give your sweet spot the nod.

My plots up at camp looked like that. Which I'm happy about. The one plot has had fertility issues, very rock. 3-4ft tall goldenrod is good. The plot above that had 5-6ft tall golden rod. Held my solo 421 clover spreader over my head and walked a pass for the small seeds. No way I was doing that with a bag of rye in the spreader. Knocked it down with a tire drag, then spread the rye, when went in the opposite direction. Too rainy to spray gly yesterday.. Too much thunder to get a few apple trees in safely either.....

With the club I am in, I am surprised I havent bumped into the jamacian vetch up there......
