What’s wrong with this Liberty?

What’s going on here? Have this same black spot on a liberty an Mutsu. Both Lowe’s clearance trees.

Picture is blurry, but possibly sunscald. If this is on the south or southwest side of the tree, I would say that's what it is.

Thanks Steve! It is the southwest side of the tree! Will try an get a better pic tomorrow. Was reaching over the fence of my garden/chicken pen for the above pic!
