Well Im loosing another apple tree.

Voles can wreak havoc on your apple trees. We had them chew through paper wrapping and girdle about a dozen of our trees under the snow a few years ago:



I ended up having to pull 6 of my 7-8 year old apple trees so I could start over again:



A tough lesson learned....but this is how I protect them now:

Thank you buckvelvet. We really don't hear that much ... but it is very much appreciated. I was speaking with a young man last year....when he learned that I was a Vietnam veteran he said "Welcome Home - I know you probably didn't hear that very much when you came home". You could have knocked me over with a feather....he was right! Other than immediate family, there was very little fanfare when you got back home. Thanks again.
