weird change with IOS update for checking trail cams

Derek Reese 29

First off I should say I am not the most tech-savvy person. But this weird change just blew my mind.
I have been checking cams for years using a plug in card reader (have used tons of cheap different ones) over the years and it has all been the same.
Plug it in to my phone (have an I phone 16, if it matters), plug the chip into the reader and they pop up in the files area with like a BROWNING, DCIM, etc.
Then I go in and can scroll the full sized pics one at a time with no app downloads it just uses the file on the phone and it was pretty fast.
BUT..I ran an update on my phone last week and NOW it is opening ADOBE each time and cannot scroll at all...extremely slow and frustrating.
Do I finally have to break down and get a handheld checker or what? I was so mad the other night.
Thanks in advance for any advice on this.

This is NOT an Apple IOS issue, it is an Adobe highjacking issue.
Here is how to fix it on your iPhone 16 so your cam photos open fast again.

The Fix: "Always Open With" iOS now allows you to change the default app for file types, but it's a bit hidden.
  1. Plug in your card reader and open the Files app.
  2. Navigate to your SD card, then the DCIM folder until you see the photos.
  3. Long-press (press and hold your finger down) on one of the photo files (.JPG) until a menu pops up.
  4. Tap "Open With".
  5. Select "Photos" (the default Apple app) or simply "Files".
Usually, the iPhone will remember this choice for future files, and it will stop using Adobe

awesome thank you so much...no more blue air polluting the air about the cams at my house and my in laws!
I had been looking up the card readers with the screens and the cheapest one was like 43$!
