Waterfowl

Nice job!
Wish we had some birds around here to hunt.
 
Had some to shoot, but had other things to do....nice bag of birds
 
Brother in law and I got a pair of blue wing teal today. Never even heard a goose in 4 hours on the river, but saw a hundred in a cut hay field on the way home.

She has really turned into a heck of a bird dog, if I would have known how good she was going to be I would have never got her fixed.
We had never had GSP's before so I don't if they are all like her or she is just special....she is special to me anyway! Smartest dog I've ever hunted with.

Nice! I'm pumped for the opener next weekend, surprised your so early.
 
My FIL had 2 GSP as pets. Even so, they'd naturally go on point when running thru a field or even hanging around the bird feeder. But they were beautiful dogs. His were all liver with just a little white on it like yours. Hard Core retrievers.
 
Youth&Veterans waterfowl weekend, I hunted this morning with an Army buddy.
Darcy did great and my buddy shot his first banded duck ever. I even got a band today!

I am fortunate to live very close to a good size lake about five miles across eleven miles long with marshes along it and a state waterfowl refuge on one corner. There are a couple other good sized lakes in the area.
Also LOTS of big local ponds and a couple rivers close by. I’ve hunted birds here for a little over forty five years and know a few of the good spots pretty well.
