Recently purchased a property in west central WI. A few of the areas are covered in acres of this vine with thorns. Could someone tell me what it is? I cleared all the logging roads today and it is thick. Thanks

Thanks guys. How would you rank blackberries in terms of deer cover and or food? From what I'm reading trying to get rid of them is not going to be easy if that is needed. Thanks again.

Awesome deer food and the #1 native plant as far as consumption on my place here in Missouri.

My biggest challenge with them is to try to get a few of the black berries, before the bear eat them all. They will be loaded when they arent ripe, but as soon as they ripen, the bears move in and seem to take every berry from the bushes. I know the birds participate some as well.

Blackberry is decent but black raspberry is much better.
